This version adds remote control of giv through a JSonRpc protocol. This makes giv suitable for a remote viewer for a running application. There are commands available for changing the image and the vector view of an already running giv, as well as prompting the user to
click on a coordinate and retrieving the pixel coordinate.
This is a minor enhancement and bugfix release with the following new features. A pixel grid has been added that may shown at high zoom factors. A new tool allows counting the number of marks in a region. The auto-contrast on file loading may now be turned off. A bug related to multi-slice images in the fits plugin was fixed.
This version contain several small enhancements. The measurement tool now allows dragging the caliper for fine adjustment. The pixel size tool recalculates the distance when toggling between different pixel size modes. The histogram in the contrast tool now shows an indicator of the current gray level when hovering over the image. The TIFF plugin has been extended for floating point and 1-bit images. A PNG (including 16bit) plugin has been added. Alpha transparency for marks may now be toggled on and off. This version also fixes a bug in 64-bit compilation.
A new calibration tool allows setting the pixel size, and subsequent distance measurements will use the calibrated pixelsize. The measurement tool has been made flicker-free and changed to more aesthetic caliper-like graphics. The contrast tool now works with 8-bit images and allows zooming of the histogram. The Windows installer has been updated to the latest GTK version. A new tiff plugin has been added that reads more TIFF formats than gdk-pixbuf. The fits plugin now supports multi-slice (volume) FITS files.
