The code was tidied up and brought to modern standards (gcc 4.2, autoconf 2.61, automake 1.10). Many display, UI, mouse, and keyboard control bugs, as well as printing misalignments, have been fixed. Major internal changes involve a new converter framework that makes converters much more reliable. Guitar Pro 4 import has undergone major rewriting and claims to loads all files properly.
This is a huge milestone release, the first in a
very long time. Lots of refactoring was done,
greatly improving the internal architecture,
modularizing lots of internal components, and
adding more KDE3 standardization. Full-featured
Guitar Pro 4 import support was added. Song
printing and display were improved by including
classic notation. A new chord finder was added, so
one can instantly get a chord by its text name.
The melody editor was improved, adding scales and
modes and better interactivity. MIDI playback was
improved. Many usability fixes and bugfixes were
made.
This release is officially ported to KDE3, and basic KDE help center documentation is introduced. There are more usability features (zooming and navigation), new tools (a melody/solo editor and a rhythm constructor), support for native Qt tablature printing (with standard notescore notation), a more complete MIDI playback feature, more complete MusicXML support, and new Guitar Pro 3 import support. There is a lot of refactoring and numerous bugfixes.
統一されたMIDIの機能は、TSE3ライブラリは、MIDI再生、MIDIのエクスポートすると、和音プレーヤーを提供し、追加されたものです。すべてのMIDIに関連するコードのみをTSE3と何も使用するように書き直されました。基本的なMusicXMLをサポートするか、Guitar Pro 2のインポートを実施した。ネイティブtabulature印刷実装されました。新しいtabulature効果や機能の多くには、追加され、多くのバグが修正されました。

Major feature enhancements
Unified MIDI capability was added with the TSE3 library, providing MIDI playback, MIDI export, chord player, and more. All MIDI-related code was rewritten to use only TSE3 and nothing else. Basic MusicXML support and Guitar Pro 2 import were implemented. Native tabulature printing was implemented. Lots of new tabulature effects and features were added, and lots of bugs were fixed.
This release has a major change in the whole application song handling ideology. Multitracking support has been implemented. There is a basically functional drum track mode and a special feature for automatic bass line generation from a rhythm track. The editing options cut, copy, paste, undo, and redo have been added. There is a new strumming pattern rule which is much more flexible, and allows chords or parts of chords rhythms. There are lots of various bugfixes and optimizations.
