This release completes most of the work needed to
get Batch Editing
functioning as it did in the last KDE3 release,
fixes some bugs with
drag-n-drop and tags handling, and adds support
for international
translations.
kFlickr was ported to KDE4. Almost a complete
rewrite was done to take advantage of what Qt4 and
KDE4 have to offer. This version maintains almost
all the functionality of the last KDE3 release,
with the addition of better user management and
spell checking for photo descriptions. It does not
yet implement batch editing or kpart
functionality. This release is intended to allow
the translators to get their work done as well as
to flush out bugs.
Two features were added: session management and
the use of a JPEG or EXIF comment for a default
photo description. A nasty bug that causes crashes
on batch edit was fixed. The file extension is no
longer used in the default photo title. A little
progress was made on the manual.
This release introduces a major overhaul of the UI to eliminate the properties dialog. It allows each photo to define which photo set it will be uploaded to, and the license for the photo to be defined given supported licenses from Flickr. The sizes have been revamped to take into account the photo's orientation (portrait vs. landscape), and they now support a custom photo size to be defined and used during upload. Major backend work has been done to allow the eventual update to KDE4 to be less painful. Translations have been improved.
