This release is mainly focused on fixing bugs. It also adds sample external scripts for lossless rotation, photo management with ufraw-batch, and import of GQview metadata. Localized strings were frozen and po files are prepared for translators.
New features include a fully configurable sidebar with comments, keywords, histogram and experimental GPS map, a reworked preferences dialog, and automatic external program configuration based on standard desktop files. The format of the configuration file has been changed, and the home directory layout now follows the XDG specification.
New features include extracting previews and thumbnails from many RAW formats (requires Exiv2 0.18), improved speed (especially on dual-core processors), improved connected scroll and zoom controls, and experimental features for image selection and metadata editing. Back up your images before using the metadata editor.
Caching of decoded images was implemented. Thumbnails are rotated by Exif. Session saving and restoring was improved. File operations (copy, move, rename, delete) were reworked. LIRC support was added. Many fixes and improvements were made.
Images can be compared side-to-side. Metadata
handling was improved. RAW and JPEG grouping was
implemented. Color profiles support was improved.
