This is a major release that includes KDE 4 and many other new applications and games. This release is currently delivered via a Network Install mechanism, with a LiveCD ISO coming later.
This update brings in OpenSolaris build 93 and updates to KDE 3.5.9 among other changes and bugfixes. Since it also includes the latest Caiman installer, upgrades from this release will become possible going forward. In addition Firefox 3.0.1, RAM based boot (toram option), updated packages, XVM PV drivers, and Ksh93 as a system shell are other highlights.
BeleniX is now a source level derivative of Project Indiana. Image Packaging is still in the works. This release is installable to the hard disk with a ZFS root. A full 64-bit kernel and libraries are included. KDE 3.5.8 was integrated and themed with the KDM SMF service. ON Build 81 was synced. Additional software can be installed via the /usr/bin/get-pkgs utility. The Gtk-Qt theme engine provides Qt theming for GTK+ apps.
Ugraded to OpenSolaris Build 67 and The GIMP 2.2.16. A new revamped ddcxinfo utility that uses Xorg to probe the Monitor. A solution to the Math library SSE2 issue that haunted earlier releases. A fix for a kernel panic in 0.6 when booting from CD-ROM media. Further improvements to HSFS. A fix for the keyboard map handling problem present in 0.6.
Based on OpenSolaris Build 60, this release adds Full Modular Xorg 7.2 and Compiz 0.5.0 3D Manager (needs an Nvidia display card). It also includes GNU Parted and GParted GUI, Ksh93, and a USB dump utility. It updates various bundled software and adds Ktorrent, Midnight Commander, and Pkgbuild. 3000 OpenSolaris man pages are included, and it creates pseudo devices for logical partitions with experimental Linux swap detection. The OpenSolaris iSCSI initiator software is also included.
