Yes, I know that CDI is currently not supported to start as a service. Therefore the feature request.
And yes, I also know the possibility of using startup option to let CDI start automatically.
The problem is that Windows 7 then always bug you with the UAC prompt. If you use an account with limited user rights, like me, you must also enter an admin password. This could be avoided if CDI can be installed as a service.
Another reason for it: on some systems, no one typically logs in, like a machine designated as a server. In that case, a service would be convenient.
Just create a task scheduler to launch DiskInfo.exe (in CDI dir) on startup, then set the task to run if user is logged on or not.

That don't work, if you use an account with limited user rights (CDI requires admin rights). The program starts, but the GUI is not visible.
I agreed that it'd be nice if one can run CDI as a service. CDI has all that I need about HDD health, but I want to run it on my home server and now I should login after every reboot to run CDI.
Another request to add the option to run CDI as service. I want to run it without administrator rights and as far as I know the only way to accomplish this is to run it as a service.
Would it be possible to implement this feature?
It would be nice if we could install Crystal Disk Info optionally as a service/daemon, without UAC prompt at every windows start (autostart).
